Lord, for tomorrow and its needs, I do not pray;
Keep me, my God, from stain of sin, just for today.
Let me both diligently work, And duly pray.
Let me be kind in word and deed, Just for today.
Let me be slow to do my will, Prompt to obey;
Help me to sacrifice myself, Just for today.
And if today my tide of life should ebb away,
Give me thy sacraments divine, Sweet Lord today.
So for tomorrow and its needs I do not pray,
But keep me, guide me, love me, Lord, Just for today.

Here are some suggestions to help you in achieving the most effective prayer time:
1. No Interruptions:
We live in a world that uses technology to ensure that someone can be contacted virtually anywhere they may be. Cellphones, email, faxes, telephones … the list goes on, but you have to turn off these devices of convenience, at least long enough to ensure a meaningful, uninterrupted time with God.
Close the door behind you, turn off the phone ringer, turn the answering machine on in silent mode.
2. No Distractions:
Ask your family to honor this time you have set aside for the Lord. Turn off the TV, etc. Whatever you do, try to get away from anything that is a potential distraction to you.
3. Focus:
Have a notepad to write down things that are preoccupying you or keep on popping up in your mind. Then set them aside. Give your time ofprayer your total attention!
4. List Your Prayer Concerns And Praise Items
In MyPrayerPartner, you have several areas to list…
As issues come up, write them down in the spaces provided and bring them to the Lord in prayer .
Also, never neglect to write down things you are grateful and thankful for.
Praise the Lord for His mercy and kindness in your life and the lives of those you care for!
